Workshop notes: eight companions, castle duels and your look online
What landed in the game this week: the first companion looks, castle duels over the network, friends seeing your look online, and a little more life in the forest.
Every few hours the team merges a batch of finished work into the game. Here’s what players would notice from today’s batches.
Eight companions moved in
The first companions now have their looks in the game: the duckling, lamb, piglet, shoulder bird, tabby cat, tuxedo cat, terrier and sheepdog. You’ll earn them by playing. The Pets screen shows each locked companion with a short line about how to get it.
They’re the first of many. Twenty more have approved looks and are on their way, from a husky to a pair of tiger cubs; you can meet them all on the companions page.
Castle duels, together
Castle duel challenges now work over the network. The host’s game keeps score, so a duel plays out the same for everyone in it.
More life in the forest
Walk through the woods and you’ll spot small butterflies and the odd grasshopper.
Your look, for everyone
When you play together, your friends now see your Brickling exactly as you dressed it, along with your companion.
Mountain goats, better at being goats
Goats on the mountainsides leap more convincingly and follow the ground properly.
Knocked apart, built back
Give a Brickling a big enough bump and they now pop into their own pieces, which hop back together until they’re whole again and smiling. Never gore, always rebuilds. Knocks from vehicles and blasters are still being wired in.

Rivers and older worlds
Worlds saved before rivers were added no longer show stray water on the horizon.
BLOCKFORGE is in very early development. Everything here is a work in progress, and we’ll keep posting as it grows.
